Back, Hip & Pelvic Pain—It’s All Connected.

Back, hip, and pelvic pain can have many causes—but how they’re treated often makes all the difference. Maybe you’ve tried traditional PT, chiropractic care, acupuncture, or massage and maybe they helped for a little while… but the pain keeps coming back.

If nothing seems to stick, it might be time to look deeper. The missing link could be your pelvic floor. At Prosper, we take a whole-body approach through Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy; addressing not just the symptoms, but the underlying connections between your core, posture, and movement patterns. We tell patients all the time that pelvic floor care is another tool in our toolbox that other professionals (at no fault to them) may be missing.

What's Really Causing This?

  • Prolonged sitting that adds pressure or tension
  • Poor posture affecting spinal and pelvic alignment
  • Previous injury from sports, trauma, or surgery
  • Pregnancy-related strain on hips and spine
  • Hip impingement or labral tear limiting movement
  • Disc issues or nerve compression in the low back

What You Might Be Feeling

  • Dull, achy discomfort in the back, hips, or pelvis
  • Sharp, shooting pain that changes with position
  • Tightness or spasms in pelvic or surrounding muscles
  • Clicking, catching, or general feelings of instability
  • Pain with sex, tampon use, or during bowel movements

Why This Matters

Not treating hip, back or pelvic pain can lead to worsening symptoms. This can create long-term issues like joint damage, muscle imbalances, and chronic discomfort. When the body compensates for pain, it often creates movement patterns that cause increased strain on other areas of the body (like knees, spine, or pelvic floor). Over time, this can affect daily activities, posture, and even bladder, bowel or intimacy, due to compensation strategies your body is going into. The body likes to take the path of least resistance and compensating is a lot easier than working hard with a weak muscle. This is what is causing the discomfort within your body because your body is asking joints/muscles to do things they weren't designed to do. You and your body deserve proactive care so you can do the things you love now in the future for years to come.

How

Prosper

Can Help

We look beyond symptoms to understand the whole picture. Through our 3-phase Prosper Method, we help restore the strength, mobility, and coordination your pelvic system needs.

01

Lengthen

Release back, hip, and pelvic floor tension and improve mobility within your pelvic girdle.

02

Strengthen

Rebuild functional strength with breath, posture, and gentle movement so that your body doesn’t rely on compensatory strategies on joints/muscles that weren't designed to do so.

03

Prosper

Apply your progress to real-life activities—so you can trust your body again and not need to continue care long-term.

I’ve been going to Sara for Pelvic Floor Therapy for over 4 months now and I’m seeing great results! I’ve learned so much about my Pelvic floor and we’ve worked on getting my hips to tilt back into proper position as well as flexibility and strengthening. This has helped to alleviate hip pain that I’ve had for years and a urinary urgency issue. I wish women discussed Pelvic Floor health more. Sara is so kind, knowledgeable and makes your personal time with her comfortable even though it seems like a uncomfortable topic. I highly recommend giving Sara a visit for a consultation and therapy.
