Your First Visit to Prosper

We know showing up to a pelvic floor therapy appointment—especially your first one—can feel vulnerable. That’s why we’re committed to creating a space where you feel safe, respected, and in control from the moment you walk in.

What To Expect

01

One-on-One Time with Your Therapist

You’ll spend a full hour with your physical therapist, who will listen to your story, ask thoughtful questions, and begin building your personalized care plan. There’s no rushing, no judgment—just focused attention and care.

02

A Whole-Body Movement Assessment

We’ll look at how you move: how you stand, walk, breathe, and how your posture or habits may be influencing your symptoms. Your pelvic floor doesn’t work in isolation—it’s connected to your diaphragm, hips, core, and even your feet.

03

Breathing + Pressure Evaluation

Breath is foundational. We’ll assess how you breathe and manage pressure throughout your core and pelvis, which can give us major clues into what’s going on below the surface.

04

Gentle Internal Pelvic Floor Assessment

With your consent, we may perform a gentle internal exam to assess the strength, mobility, and coordination of your pelvic floor muscles. You’re always in control, and we walk you through every step beforehand and during. If you’re not ready, we can still make progress with external techniques.

05

Initial Hands-On Treatment

We often begin treatment during your first visit. This may include manual therapy to release tension, guided breathing, or exercises to start reconnecting your body. We’ll explain everything clearly and answer any questions along the way.

06

Personalized Plan & Home Exercises

Before you leave, we’ll discuss your next steps and send you home with helpful resources: recap emails, follow-up plans, and easy-to-follow exercises that build on what we worked on in session.
